The president’s returns, which have not been made public, are a huge story in the political world and have led to calls for the White House to release the documents.
But the president and his administration have refused to release them.

Trump is not only dodging taxes but also avoiding paying federal income taxes.
His taxes for the years 1995 through 2017 are not publicly available, but a new tax return filed by Trump’s accountant in October 2017 shows he paid less than $100,000 in federal income tax.
In his tax return, Trump indicated that he pays income taxes at a rate of 15.2%, which is lower than what his accountant estimated he should have paid, according to the Washington Examiner.
The Tax Policy Center, a conservative think tank, estimates that Trump paid an effective tax rate of 20.2% in 2017, meaning that he was not only avoiding paying income taxes but paying a tax rate that far exceeded the 15.3% that the nonpartisan Tax Policy Institute estimated for Trump.
According to the Tax Policy center, Trump’s tax rate in 2017 was also significantly lower than the average of other major-party presidential candidates.
The Tax Policy group projects that Trump will pay a rate similar to that of Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, a Democrat.
The Trump administration has said that Trump’s returns are a distraction from the larger issue of tax reform.
But a spokesperson for Trump did not respond to requests for comment.
The Washington Post also has not released the president’s tax returns, but it is known that he is not hiding anything.
Trump has said he has not paid any federal income income tax for years.
