The Delaware Sports and Entertainment Department has announced the registration of registered nurse Melissa L. Brown for a role as the Delaware Sports Administration’s Chief Administrative Officer.

She will assume the role of Delaware’s Chief Information Officer in the fall of 2019.
Brown is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Information Science at the University of Delaware.
Brown began her career as a nurse practitioner at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
She then spent several years as an administrative assistant for the state’s Office of the State’s Director of Health Care Services.
Brown has a B.A. in communication studies from The University of South Carolina and a master’s degree in nursing from Georgetown University.
She has worked as an assistant professor at the National College of Nursing, the School of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, the College of Pharmacy, and the College Health &s.
Health Science Institute at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Indiana.
She holds a BSCN from Indiana University and an M.A., BSN from The College of William and Mary, and is an RN/PhD in Clinical Nurse Practitioners from Georgetown.
Brown previously worked as a Registered Nurse Assistant in the Delaware State Department of Public Health and Environmental Health and served as a registered nurse educator at the Delaware Adult Nurses Association.
